This week and last week's Supernatural School of Ministry classes have been amazing. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the teachers have been speaking about prophecy. After each teaching we've been able to practice hearing the voice and God and then sharing it with each other.  It's so cool to see how God speaks to us. There's been several times where God has shown or spoke to me about something or somebody that's confirmed by someone else. It's been a lot of fun.

Earlier this week a guy name Ricardo walked in on our class. He was a drug addict and Jesus saved him four days earlier.  This man walked in hungry wanting to know more about God. After class we had him sit in the hot seat and blasted him with words of encouragement. We asked him how he felt afterwards and he said, "those were the most beautiful words I've ever heard spoken about me."
I truly believe God has an amazing plan for this man's life. He showed up to service last night and was already serving. He was helping them shovel and strain dirt.
Ricardo in the hot seat

While they were having service I was in a SOZO with my friend Sarah and Mrs. Karyn. We did it on one of the bible student's who is 25 year old widow. Her husband died of aids a year ago and left her with a little girl. We didn't get to finish all of it. We only got through the first part which deals with the people she needed to forgive. When we were done she couldn't stop talking about how light she felt. She said she had been carrying around a heaviness that had finally lifted.

So far I've been able to sit through 3 SOZOS and have seen God heal and deliver people right before my eyes. In these meetings there is one main person who walks the person through 4 doors: unforgiveness, fears, occult, and sexual sins. The person who is walking the other person through only guides the person, the Holy Spirit reveals everything. Karyn and I have been there to pray and share anything that the Holy Spirit shows us. These meetings are powerful, you can feel the presence of God in the room and His love over the people.

Here's some info on SOZO if your wondering it is...

SOZO: VERB

1 a: to save b: to heal c: to deliver
2: to save a suffering one, to make well, heal, to deliver from penalties of the Messianic judgment

SO, WHAT IS SOZO?

The Sozo ministry is a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry in which the main aim is to get to the root of those things hindering your personal connection with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thus with a healed connection with Father, Son and Holy Spirit you can walk in the destiny to which you have been called.
  • Sozo is an inner healing/deliverance ministry
  • Sozo is simple, fast, Spirit led and effective
  • Sozo finds issues in minutes instead of years
  • Sozo helps heal your relationship with God to enable you to fulfill your destiny

Through these SOZO meetings and classes I'm learning alot about God and His love. He's alot of fun. I tell you being a Christian is far from boring. I think I need to rename my blogsite to Adventures with God.

Anyways...Blessings!

Ministry in El Centro

Andy giving Sergio some cds.

We came prepared for ministry in El Centro. However because of the rain and unpredictable weather there wasn't alot of people out. That didn't stop our plans. Andy was able to give Sergio the cds he told him about and we had Sidewalk Sunday School = )

Learning to love...

It's funny how God works. I often pray "Lord teach me how to love". I guess...I don't really understand what that all entails. Last Sunday I was presented with an opportunity to demonstrate that love. As you seen and heard I've been helping out with the "Feed the Children Program". The kids that come to this program come in off the streets dirty and sick.

Well the Sunday of the fundraiser they sat in front of me. My friend Sarah started taking pictures of them, after a few they wanted to take pictures with us. That was all good until they got super close and my head touched theirs. Immediately I thought I hope these kids don't have lice.  Eek! It hit me...these kids are starving for love. What does it matter if I sacrifice getting dirty....lice...etc for the sake of loving the unloved.

What a lesson! So for the rest of the service I held two of the girls close.
uhhh!!! Lord teach me how to love!

Sunday Service (Feb 12, 2012)

This is a video of the children of the church praying over the children from the "Feed the Children Program". Leno the man who cooks for the children held a fundraiser and invited all the kids. Most of them showed up and some of them were wearing the hats and gloves Carrie and Todd bought them.

Feed the Children Program

The kids showing Todd aka Santiago lots of love.
Today Todd and Carrie picked me up at 8:30am to go to the church for the Feed the Children Program. Two members from the church, Leno and his wife cook food for the children in the neighborhood. They've had up to 60 children at one time. Today was cold and rainy so not too many kids showed up. I believe we had around 15 kids.

Carrie reading a bible story to the kids.
Me playing mirror with the kids.
Chase helping this little girl put on her brand new jacket.
We read bible stories and played games with them.Todd who they call Santiago and Carrie who they named Angelica bought them hats and gloves. Two of the kids got jackets as well.

The children had to bring their own cups and plates. It was sad because some of the plates and cups they brought were dirty.

I'm not sure what the situation is like at home for these children but I know when I was helping 2 of the boys put on their gloves I literally thought their hands were burned. I asked Chase about it and he told me that that was dirt. DIRT? Seriously it must have been LAYERS of dirt : (

Being in another country, in another culture with unfamiliar people forces you to be open to new things. It forces you to reevaluate values, habits and the way you think and see things. Often times we think the way we do things is the right way until were exposed to some different. This is what I appreciate the most every time I have the privilege of traveling to a new place.  It grounds me and helps to realize what really matters and what doesn’t.  It’s barely been 2 weeks and God has shown me so much. I can’t imagine what He will do in the next 5 weeks.

 This week...
Monday, I helped Carrie and Todd with homeschool. I had a blast with the kids teaching the different literary styles found in the bible. I found a new love for Christian literature as I helped Shiloh with her work.

Monday night and Tuesday night bible school classes have been great. They’ve been teaching about prophecy. I’ve learned a lot about hearing the voice of God and how to deliver what he says.

Wednesday we went to a village in the mountains called Zarzamora (means black berry). It was a 4 hour drive from where I stay. Andy and Karyn have done a lot of ministry with the Indiginous Indians who live there.  They are called Purépechas (http://indian-cultures.com/Cultures/purepecha.html). Andy and Karyn wanted to go and encourage the people there. It was really interesting because when we got there we found out that the pastor’s mother is dying.  Andy and Todd shared messages of encouragement to the people .You can feel the atmosphere shift as Andy and Todd were speaking. We got to pray for the sick. There were a lot of babies and children sick with diarrhea and stomach pains. There was man with pain in his knee who got healed and another guy with pain in his neck that was also healed. It was a great evening.

After the service Todd and Carrie gave a box of brand new sneakers to the Pastor for the children in the village. When the children received their shoes they were so happy.(Though, you can't really tell by their faces in the picture)

Thursday we went downtown to do street ministry. We seen the guy we led to the Lord last week. His name is Rafael and he sells little toy horses on the bridge. Andy shared scripture with him and they discussed it. It was awesome to see this...the beginning stages of discipleship.

I also got to meet Sergio and his family. Andy had ministered to him a few weeks back. Everyday Sergio, his wife and their five children set up a table with handmade crafts hoping that they will sell enough for the day. Neither Sergio nor his wife know how to read. Seeing that their five children do not go to school I’m assuming they won’t learn how to read either. It’s sad to see. However, with Jesus there’s hope. Next week we plan on doing activities for the kids and Andy is going to make some cds for Sergio. I’m excited to see what God is going to do in this family.

I really enjoy street ministry. Andy and the team are praying for place to rent downtown so that they can open the doors to the homeless. Let's come in agreement with them!

Nothing holding me back

Lately, this song by Bryan and Katie Torwalt has been on my heart.  From the time I got onto the plane until now. I can't seem to stop singing it.  The lyrics grip me every time I hear it. Jesus makes all things new. I thought I'd share it with you guys because it's part of what God's doing in me in this season ; )

La Iglesia

What you see here is an unfinished product of what God has for this church. They call this church the dirt church. Before it looked like this it was all dirt and all they had was a tarp to cover the top. Little by little God is building His church. This Friday Andy is building a sound booth.

The people in the area where the church is located have a poverty mentality. One day when Karyn and a team were picking up trash in the neighborhood, she found a colored piece of tile. When she went home she got a hold of a gold plate and on it she created a blue cross using the piece she found. She shared with me that she really felt like that piece of tile was symbolic. That amongst the "trash" is something BEAUTIFUL. It's a picture of hope and destiny for this area.

FIRE MEXICO!

Thursday Feb 2, 2012 in El Centro

This is Maria. She's 83 years old and her children robbed her and left her in the streets. She was really hurt and when I asked her if she needed prayer she refused. After Andy and I were done talking to her, her heart started to soften and she broke into tears. She let Andy pray for her and was filled with peace.

Because He's worth it all...

True love for Jesus will always choose Him when faced with an alternative. If, for example, Jesus calls someone to the mission field, then for Jesus' sake he leaves his native land. This could involve separation from loved ones, including children, and possibly even-albeit temporarily-his wife. Love for one's country and family has to take second place. Jesus can only be our true love, our first love, if our love for Him takes priority and, when having to choose between Jesus or people and things, we choose Him. -"My All for Him" Basilea Schlink

After reading this you may be in total agreement or maybe your not and this seems too extreme. Where ever you are in your beliefs I pray that you will get a deeper revelation of the cross. When you truly understand the price Jesus paid for your sin, this type of surrender is easy. For those of you who have been in love know that you would do anything for that person. Your life and needs become irrelevant and its all about the other person. It's the same thing. Ahhh!!! we need to fall deeper in love with Jesus. We need a greater revelation of His love for us.

No worries I'm in good hands...

I arrived in Guadalajara, Mexico Monday Jan 30th around 4:30pm (central time) .  Andy and his lovely wife Karyn picked me up. The first thing Andy asked was if I like Starbucks...lol! I immediately thought to myself, this is soooo a God thing. Anyways, straight from the airport we went to their bible school which is held at their church. Kind of like F.I.R.E Chicago. Only they are a branch of Bethel's Supernatural School of Ministry. Both Karyn and Andy are the regional directors of Guadalajara. There's team of teachers that take turns teaching weekly. Classes are held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5-9pm. It's really cool to see the wide variety of age amongst the students. The first year is split up into three trimesters. Each trimester has a different focus. The first focuses on identity and freedom, the second on intersession and the prophetic, and the third focuses on the supernatural and transformation. Right now we're in the second session and I got to sit on some really great classes. That same night I arrived one of the missionaries A.W. taught a lesson titled "Dreaming with God". The second part was taught by Terry David it was called "The Value of Revelation and Understanding." Both are American missionaries who are fluent in Spanish. I understood about 85% of it = )

That same day Karyn and I went over my schedule. On Mondays I will be helping another missionary couple (Carrie and Todd Pruette) homeschool their 4 kids. Check this out....Carrie and Todd are best friends with the missionaries that Sam is staying with. They lived in Thailand for many years with them, cRaZy!

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I have Spanish class with the Pruettes and Karyn who is our teacher.

Tuesday and Friday I will be cooking for the family.

Wednesdays is our day off. This Wednesday was great. It was really cool hanging out with the Pricers on their day off. I got to see how they spent quality time together. Kind of new for me. We spent pretty much the whole day together except for a few hours in the evening. We went to the mall, ate pizza, played some games, and watched a movie. Oh I forgot to mention they have three kids. However, I've only met Julia who's 15 and Hunter who is 16 turning 17 this month. Their other daughter Brittney goes to Bethel in Redding.

That evening I got to be a part of their SOZO ministry (http://bethelsozo.com/). That was amazing, I witnessed God heal this woman right before my eyes. When she left the encounter, her face was glowing.

Thursdays, we go to the downtown area (el centro) pray for the sick and share the love of God with the the people we meet. Today we had a really good time. We prayed for a few people and led a man to Christ.

Fridays, we will be spending at the church as well as Saturday. On Saturdays I will be a part of the childrens feeding program.

Sundays, Andy and his family usually travel and preach around Guadalajara and in the evenings we will go to their church service.

I have no complaints = )I'm in great company and I've been able to have some awesome alone time with God.

I'm really enjoying His presence. In it there is fullness of Joy.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

Continue to pray for the missionaries out here as well as me. Andy and Karyn have such a huge vision for Guadalajara. They genuinely love the people and want to see God do something great here. As for me please pray for my Spanish. There's so much I want to share with the people but feel so limited. Pray that the love and power of God will be demonstrated in our midst as we step out in faith.
Love you- Nat
